What Is Endolift X®?

Endolift® uses an ultra-fine laser fibre inserted beneath the skin through a tiny entry point. Controlled laser energy is delivered into the superficial subcutaneous tissues to:

  • Tighten and contract lax tissue
  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Remodel fibrous support structures
  • Improve jawline and neck definition
  • Reduce small, localised fat deposits

The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and does not require surgical incisions or stitches.

The Science Behind Endolift X®

Ageing of the lower face and neck results from a combination of:

  • Descent of facial fat compartments
  • Laxity of retaining ligaments and fibrous septae
  • Progressive collagen loss
  • Skin thinning and soft tissue laxity
  • Mild accumulation of fat beneath the chin and jawline

Endolift X addresses these changes by delivering laser energy directly beneath the skin.

This produces:

  • Immediate contraction of collagen fibres
  • Tightening of supporting fibrous structures
  • Progressive collagen regeneration over 3–6 months
  • Selective reduction of localised fat deposits
  • Improved contour and structural definition of the jawline and neck

Because Endolift X works beneath the skin rather than only on the surface, it can produce more meaningful contour improvement in carefully selected patients.

Top Clinical Applications of Endolift X®

Endolift X may be used for:

  • Jawline definition and jowl refinement
  • Reduction of submental fullness and “double chin”
  • Neck tightening and improved cervicomental angle
  • Lower face laxity and contour correction
  • Mid-face contour support and early tissue descent

Suitability depends upon anatomy, skin quality and degree of laxity.

Who Is a Suitable Candidate?

Endolift X is generally most suitable for patients with:

  • Mild to moderate skin laxity
  • Early jowling
  • Reduced jawline definition
  • Mild to moderate neck looseness
  • Fullness beneath the chin
  • Desire to avoid surgery

Patients with more advanced laxity or significant excess skin may be better suited to a surgical facelift or neck lift.

A detailed consultation is required to determine whether Endolift X is appropriate.

Recovery & Downtime

Recovery after Endolift X is usually limited.

Patients may experience:

  • Mild swelling for several days
  • Temporary tenderness or tightness
  • Mild bruising
  • Slight firmness or irregularity while tissues settle

Most patients return to normal activities within 24–72 hours.

Results continue to improve gradually over 3–6 months as collagen remodelling develops.

How It Works

Endolift X® works by passing an ultra-fine optical laser fibre just beneath the skin into the superficial subcutaneous layer. The fibre delivers 1470 nm laser energy, which is strongly absorbed by water in the tissues, generating controlled heat. This heat causes immediate collagen contraction, tightens fibrous septae and connective tissue, stimulates longer-term collagen remodelling, and can also help reduce small localised fat deposits. In simple terms, it tightens and remodels from underneath rather than only treating the skin surface.

The procedure is usually performed as an outpatient treatment. After marking the treatment area, local anaesthetic may be used, then the microfibre is introduced through a tiny entry point and moved in planned passes beneath the skin to deliver controlled energy to the target area. Because the fibre is placed under the skin, the treatment requires anatomical precision and medical oversight.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Endolift X a surgical procedure?

Angle Image

No. Endolift X is minimally invasive and is performed using an ultra-fine laser fibre inserted beneath the skin through a very small entry point. No surgical incisions or stitches are required.

What makes Endolift X different from other skin tightening treatments?

Angle Image

Unlike most skin tightening treatments, Endolift X works beneath the skin. This allows direct tightening of the fibrous support structures and subdermal tissues responsible for facial heaviness and laxity, while also reducing small localised fat deposits.

The result is more meaningful contour refinement than can often be achieved with surface-only treatments.

Who is a suitable candidate for Endolift X?

Angle Image

The best candidates usually have early or moderate facial ageing, mild skin looseness, jowling, fullness beneath the chin or early neck laxity, and wish to avoid surgery.

What is the downtime after Endolift X?

Angle Image

Most patients experience several days of swelling and mild tenderness, with return to normal activities within 1–3 days. Bruising may occur but is usually limited.

How long do the results last?

Angle Image

Results vary according to age, skin quality and lifestyle. In many patients, improvement may persist for several years, although the natural ageing process continues.

Is one treatment enough?

Angle Image

Many patients achieve significant improvement with a single treatment. In some cases, repeat or staged treatment may be recommended.

Does Endolift X remove a double chin?

Angle Image

Endolift X can improve mild to moderate submental fullness by reducing small fat deposits beneath the chin while simultaneously tightening the overlying skin.

Can Endolift X replace a facelift?

Angle Image

Endolift X is not a substitute for a surgical facelift in patients with advanced skin laxity. However, in carefully selected patients with earlier ageing changes, it may provide meaningful improvement without surgery.

Who should perform Endolift X in New Zealand?

Angle Image

Endolift X should only be performed by a registered medical practitioner, or by an appropriately trained registered nurse working directly under medical supervision within a regulated medical clinic.

Endolift X is not a beauty therapy treatment. It involves inserting a laser fibre beneath the skin and almost always requires local anaesthetic. This requires detailed understanding of facial anatomy, nerves, blood vessels and the safe administration of local anaesthetic.

Beauty therapists are not registered health practitioners and do not have the legal scope of practice to independently administer injectable local anaesthetic or perform invasive medical procedures of this type in New Zealand.

Because Endolift X is performed beneath the skin, there is a risk — although uncommon — of bleeding, infection, burns, nerve injury, allergic reactions or complications related to local anaesthetic. These situations require immediate medical assessment and management.

For this reason, Endolift X should only be performed in a properly equipped medical clinic by practitioners with formal medical training and the ability to safely manage any adverse event.
