Dr McKerrow completed his medical training at the University of Otago, followed by work in internal and subspecialty medicine at Wellington Hospital. He earned his Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, with dermatology training in Wellington and Auckland. He was later awarded a Roche Research Fellowship at the University of Glasgow, served as a Clinical Lecturer in lasers at University College London, and completed a prestigious Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at the New England Medical Center in Boston, USA.
A pioneer of Mohs micrographic surgery in New Zealand since 1989, Dr McKerrow has performed over 40,000 Mohs procedures. As one of a select few dermatologic surgeons qualified in this specialised technique, he ensures the highest precision in skin cancer removal with minimal cosmetic impact.
