Consultation Fees
Fees range from $425–$475, depending on complexity and time required. Additional charges apply for procedures such as liquid nitrogen or skin biopsies.
Medical Insurance
Many policies cover consultations. We are Affiliated Providers for Southern Cross. Please advise reception of your insurer when booking.
Parking
We offer 8 on-site car parks, and ample street parking is also available nearby.
Do I need a referral?
A referral is not required for a cosmetic consultation. For a suspicious mole, skin lesion or skin cancer concern, arrange assessment through Skin Specialist Centre. No GP referral is needed; any previous assessment or biopsy result is helpful. Please call reception about urgent concerns.
Skin cancer assessment at SSCCancellation Policy
We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations.
- Late cancellations or non-attendance incur a $150 fee.
- Unpaid fees must be settled before re-booking.
ACC Consultations
If your consultation relates to an ACC injury, please provide a valid, approved ACC claim number to reception before your appointment.
Once reception confirms the claim is relevant to the consultation, the clinic can submit the consultation fee to ACC through the ACC online portal, with no surcharge for the consultation. Any proposed treatment funding is considered separately by ACC and is not guaranteed by consultation cover.

Important Notice
Please note that all treatment options at the Scars & Lasers require a consultation with one of our specialist dermatologists before any treatment begins. This consultation ensures you receive the most suitable and effective treatment for your needs, along with a comprehensive long-term care plan and estimate of costs.
A face-to-face consultation is required before treatment if any of the following apply:
- You are a new patient to Scars & Lasers.
- You have not had an appointment in over 18 months.
- You are presenting a new or additional concern.
Cosmetic consultations do not require a referral.
All treatments are provided solely at the discretion of your practitioner.
